Who to follow
The most important step in setting up your twitter is carefully crafting a cohort of people to follow. People who tweet too much, people who tweet about what they had for lunch, people who are trying to sell you the next miracle weight loss pill, all should be avoided. Don't feel bad about unfollowing people. It is an essential part of using Twitter.
I have collected three lists of medical twitter accounts for your consideration.
- Glomerulus. This is a collection of people, mostly doctors and medical professionals that are interesting and worth a follow.
- Proximal tubule. A collection of all the nephrologists on Twitter I could find. Not on the list, send me a note on twitter.
- Collecting duct. A collection of official organizations, including large studies, journals and professional organizations.
