The NephJC Kidneys...late but not forgotten.

For the last five years, NephJC has awarded the most meritorious people (and one manuscript) in #NephTwitter. Every September we seek out nominations for the 7 categories. Well it is the last day of October, and we haven’t gotten around to the nominations. But a global pandemic can throw off any timetable. We are here now. So please take a moment and nominate a person or manuscript right now. If you don’t want to use the google form, you can just tweet your nomination with the hashtag #NephJCKidneys.

The categories:

  • Article of the year. What was the most important manuscript of 2021? Is it the FIGARO/FIDELIO twins showing finerenone can slow the progression of DKD? SSaSS finally showing an important and large reduction in mortality with the addion of potassium and removal of a pinch of salt from the diet? AURORA1 bringing a new medicine to the fight on lupus nephritis? What else? New KDIGO GN Guidelines?

  • Engaged Scientist of the year goes to the scientist who participated in a NephJC discussion on their own manuscript.

  • The Nathan Hellman Social Media Project of the Year. This goes to a new project that is putting a dent into the #NephTwitter universe.

  • MVP The person who contributes the most to NephJC

  • Rookie of the Year is the most important new contributor to NephJC chats

  • CJASN Visual Abstract of the Year. This goes out to the best visual abstract regardless if it was in CJASN, NDT, AJN, NephJC, NephMadness or any other publication. Handbook of Critical Care Nephrology🤔?

Small print: All nominations will be vetted by the NephJC board of directors before being placed on the official ballot.
