Another year begins for medical training in July. New beginnings are always a chance for amending and improving our outlook and practices. New faces, new ideas, new places.
The NephJC internship program has undergone a significant transformation, emerging as a smaller, more agile initiative designed to foster deeper engagement with both trainees and you, our audience. Once a larger operation, the program faced challenges motivating participation from creators and participants alike. By scaling back, NephJC has refocused on quality over quantity, creating a streamlined structure that prioritizes hands-on learning, collaboration, and responsiveness. This allows us to adapt quickly to the evolving needs of our community while preserving the program’s core mission: to advance nephrology education through critical appraisal and open dialogue.
Our new and compact cohort of interns will benefit from a tailored experience that emphasizes mentorship and real-world application. With fewer trainees, we can offer more individualized guidance, ensuring each intern actively contributes to journal club discussions, social media outreach, and content creation. This agility enables us to experiment with innovative formats in an attempt to regrown our audience and keep your nephro-centric curiosity captivated. By empowering interns to take ownership of projects, we’re fostering a sense of investment and creativity that resonates with participants and followers alike, strengthening the NephJC community’s connection to cutting-edge nephrology discourse.
We hope you will welcome our new trainees with open arms and encourage their growth over the next year of NephJC learning and participation. Please give them a follow on Bluesky. We hope more of you will come and participate in our twice-monthly Bluesky chats and encourage our trainees.
