KDIGO Blood Pressure Guidelines: Wrap up

This was a great discussion of the most recent KDIGO Clinical Practice Guidelines for blood pressure management in patients with non-dialysis CKD. It has been over 10 years since the last clinical practice guidelines from KDIGO on this topic.  Notably, the SPRINT trial (2015 NephJC Summary) heavily informed this guideline, as it did the 2017 AHA/ACC guideline. Although the new systolic target is 120 mm Hg, the wake-up call for many will be considering how blood pressure is measured rather than the target itself.

Be sure to check out the top ten takeaways for clinicians.
